TRANSPORTATION DETAILS
If you are registered to attend the Roundup Reunion in Vermont in September, 2021, you will receive an email in early June that will provide more reunion information than you probably need to know! We'll also post it here on the website when we get it.
For now, here is some travel information that should help with your planning:
Travel Plans: If you plan to fly, the Burlington International Airport (airport code BTV) is your destination. At least four major airlines serve the airport - United, American, Delta, & Jet Blue. There will be shuttle buses from the airport to Basin Harbor (at a cost of $25 one-way), one bus around noon for early arrivals and another about 5:00 pm for late afternoon arrivals.
If you find that you can't get to Burlington by 5:00 pm on Sunday, you may want to check flights on Saturday 9/11. We are making arrangements with a local hotel to hold rooms for Saturday night at a special rate. The hotel has a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and then back to the airport on Sunday morning if you plan to catch the shuttle bus to Basin Harbor. The June email will have details about the hotel and also about the shuttle going from the airport to Basin Harbor on Sunday.
If you plan to travel by train, check with Amtrak for schedules. You should plan to arrive at the Burlington-Essex Junction Amtrak station by mid-afternoon or earlier on Sunday. You may also want to arrive on Saturday, 9/11, and stay at the hotel mentioned above.
If you plan to drive to Basin Harbor, determine your route to get you to Vergennes, about 30 miles south of Burlington on Route 7 South. Drive south through Vergennes and over the Otter Creek Bridge. As you complete driving over the bridge, you will see a blinking light ahead. Turn right at the blinker onto Panton Road. Drive 1 1/2 miles on Panton. Turn right on Basin Harbor Road (BJ's Farm Supply on the corner). Drive 6 miles and Basin Harbor is at the end of the road. OR: Key in Basin Harbor's address: 4800 Basin Harbor Road, Vergennes, VT 05491, on your phone or GPS, and the magic of technology will tell you how to get there!
Again, watch for that email coming in early June with more information and answers to any questions you have.
